Every time we think of electric fan, the first thing that comes into our minds is that it is designed and made for cooling down our homes during humid days, However, ceiling fans in particular does not just function for cooling down, but they are also used for warming up a room. Most of these units that can also be used for heating a room can be guided using a remote control and typically looks a lot like any ordinary fan.
The idea of how these units warm the entire room is probably based on the theory that the upper part of the units are designed in a manner that they are capable of emitting heat while the fan blades distributes the warm air all throughout the room. As the blades keep on spinning on a certain direction, warm air is dispersed more evenly than the usual heating systems where heat is only concentrated and remain unmoved near the heat source. They do not just only cool down our homes, but they are also perfect for warming it up whenever necessary and allows us to save more money.

Ceiling fans can also be used outdoors in our patio as long as there’s a ceiling above it. Covered porches and decks can also be perfect locations to enjoy the chilling effect generated by these units. But before buying one for outdoor use, there are several things that we should first keep in mind. First, make sure that the unit we chose is marked and labeled ideal for outdoor use. We should familiarize ourselves with units appropriate for damp locations and units for wet locations. Units designed for damp conditions can great for damp outdoors but their water durability is lower than units made for wet locations. On the other hand, units designed to withstand wet conditions are perfect for outdoor use since they can withstand more harsh weather conditions. Second, it is very important for us to check the type of electrical systems we have in our homes. The electrical system that will power these units in the outdoor should also be able to withstand wet conditions to prevent any damage or electrical failure. For homes located near the ocean, the salt water and sun can change the color of the fan quite drastically so you shouldn’t be surprised about it.

Ceiling fans are cost-effective and environmental friendly. They cool us down during hot summers and warm us up during the cold months.

Ceiling fans can make your home cool and refreshing.
